How Golden Goody Awards raise awareness of Global Causes

A Golden Goody Award is the top humanitarian award presented by the Goody Awards. This lifetime achievement award is given out about six times per year, and is usually presented at a live event as part of a cause marketing campaign. Previous winners have included Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Sir Nicholas Winton, UN Goodwill Ambassador Ian Somerhalder, Director of Academy Award Winning Documentary “The Cove” Louie Psihoyos and more.

These Golden Goody Awards have been part of global cause marketing campaigns that promoted the Social Good Summit, United Nations Week, Ocean Preservation Society (OPS), The Elders, Los Angeles Chapter of USNC for UN WOMEN and film premieres (“Girl Rising”, “Nicky’s Family” and “Years of Living Dangerously”) and many other events and charities.

Golden Goody AwardNobel Peace Prize Nominee Sir Nicholas Winton, who is now 106-yr-old and saved 669 children from the Holocaust, was honored with our Oscar for social good via video: Sir Nicholas Winton Golden Goody Award. Sir Nicholas is known as “Britain’s Schindler” for saving 669 Czech children from the Nazis, and kept it a secret for 50 years.

Golden Goody Award5 Gyres Founder Anna Cummins was honored at the greater Los Angeles chapter of the USNC for UN WOMEN for her studies of the 5 plastic islands in the ocean that are raising awareness of the need to go plastic-free to save the planet. Anna has extensive experience in the environmental and water pollution prevention community. She completed a month long, 4,000-mile research expedition studying plastic debris in the North Pacific Gyre, and a 2,000 mile cycling/speaking tour from Vancouver to Mexico, giving talks about plastic pollution.

Memorial Day MIA (Missing in Action) Awareness Campaign

Golden Goody Award – 95-yr-old WWII Veteran Leon Cooper, was honored at the Director’s Guild of America for funding and being the star in 5 documentaries to raise awareness of 88,000 MIAs who fought in Europe and Asia. His goal is to bring the remains of the MIAs home to reunite them with their families.

Promoted need to bring home 88,000 MIAs (Missing In Action) during a special Memorial Day Movie Premiere in the US with Marines from Camp Pendleton in uniform at this event that was covered by two Los Angeles news stations.
