Radio Host TJ Taormina receives Hero Goody Award from loyal listener

Morning Radio Show Host TJ Taormina on 103.3 AMP Radio was honored with a Hero Goody Award Tag by one of his biggest fans, Kelly Mayer last week. During the morning show, Kelly tagged TJ as a global citizen for constantly finding new ways to promote positivity, compassion, laughter and smiles on and off the air.

TJ started his radio career running public service tapes on Sunday mornings for WFDU-FM, and has been continuing a career as a radio host focused on the positive ever since. Below is a letter from Kelly about why she is recognized TJ and loves being stuck in traffic listening to his show!

TJ Taormina Honored with Hero Goody Award by loyal listener

Although I don’t know TJ personally, every morning you get to “know” a little bit more about who TJ is. Not only do you enjoy the whole morning show, between the awesome hit music, the very few commercials and all the funny stories, prizes and segments, you actually enjoy listening to him speak and can’t help but laugh. Whether you laugh at him or with him, he doesn’t care as long as you are laughing and smiling!  

I recently read that TJ spent 2 years as an intern, and total of 10 years working at a radio station in NY. He did any and everything he could to learn as much as possible about the industry and he never gave up pursuing his dreams. He is such an inspiration to people of all ages. He is proof, that with hard work, dedication and the right mind set of NEVER giving up, you CAN make your dreams come true.  

With the other radio stations, I turn down the volume when I hear the hosts start yelling. But, when the TJ Show is on, I keep the volume turned up the WHOLE ride in to work, laughing and smiling! TJ focuses on using his time on air to try and make people laugh.  I admire his ability to turn almost any negative comment/event into something positive or funny. Just by listening to him talk, you can feel how much passion he has for doing what he does and you just can’t help but smile. During my 45 min to (sometimes) 2 hour drive in to work, he keeps me smiling and laughing!

I’m “tagging” TJ as a “Global Citizen” for Paying Good Forward on and off the air! He may not realize this but he truly is Paying Good Forward by doing what he does each and every morning on the radio. He starts my day (as well as MANY others) off with a smile that carries on throughout the day! One of the GREAT things I’ve learned about TJ is that he is constantly finding new ways to promote positivity, compassion, laughter and smiles on and off the air. He’s a great person and soon to be an AWESOME dad! He is a gift to the radio industry!
