Olympics 2012: Hero Goody Challenge (July 27 – Aug 12)

To celebrate athletic heroes going for Gold at the Summer Olympics 2012, the Goody Awards is hosting a Hero Goody Challenge to encourage people to recognize Olympic and backyard heroes via Twitter during the games (July 27-Aug 12, 2012.) Anyone can tweet and compete for prizes by publicly cheering for heroes doing social good in London or at home using #HeroGoody and #GoodyAwards in a tweet.

The Goody Awards is also selecting a Hero Goody of the Day from these tweets that it posts on Facebook (http://facebook.com/goodyawards.) We’ve already seen a ton of Hero Goody tweets for Michael Phelps, Gabby Douglas, Fab Five, Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin, Oscar Pistorius, Andy Murray and the Women’s USA Cycling team, and we’re only halfway through this Hero Goody Challenge that goes through Aug 12, 2012.

Tweeters can compete for 3 Goody Awards Medals and Amazon gift certificates with Gold, Silver and Bronze values ($200, $100 and $50 values.) You need a minimum of 10 tweets to compete for these prizes, and the tweets must include #HeroGoody and #GoodyAwards to count.

While fans scream YES for 10,000+ star athletes from 204 nations competing in London, Twitter users are cheering the Olympians and hometown heroes like the “9 Nanas” with tweets:
