Goody Awards Launches World Oceans Month Photo Contest

To support World Oceans Month and The Blu’s World Ocean Day Celebration, the Goody Awards announces a photo contest for June 2012 today. To enter, upload a photo of “Marine Water” (Oceans, Lakes, Rivers, Streams, Waterfalls), marine life or marine animals between June 1 – June 30, 2012. Users will vote to decide on the best photo, and the winner will receive a Sony Tablet S.

Post your summer vacation photos of your visits to New England, Nantucket, Cape May, Virginia Beach, Miami, Santa Monica, Hawaii, Great Lakes, Australia’s Coral Reef, Cozumel, or really anywhere there is a natural body of water. Because the ocean is 72% of the earth’s surface, this is a global contest to help raise awareness of this precious resource.

You can enter as many times as you like through June 30, 2012. Starting July 1 – July 12, users will vote to decide who wins the Sony S Tablet. The winner will be announced on Friday, July 13th. http://apps.facebook.com/contestshq/contests/235316

We also encourage you to support The Blu’s World Oceans Day celebration online through their 3D animated and interactive ocean platform on Friday, June 8^th. The Blu will be receiving our First Eco Goody Award this month at E3 2012 for their ocean preservation efforts and World Ocean’s Day Celebration, and we will have more news on that presentation soon.

On World Oceans Day, the Big Blu whale, created by Academy Award winner Andy Jones (Avatar), will be seen for the first time, and Ambassador Species sponsored by WildAid and the OceanElders will be available for purchase to support ocean conservation. The Blu is free, but if you buy fish, a portion of the proceeds goes to ocean preservation.
